Australian Crusader tanks
by Ian Stuart

The Crusader represents one used by the 9th Australian Divisional Cavalry Regiment at El Alamein, Egypt, July 1942. It is one of 15 Crusaders the Division had at that time, along with 5 M3 Stuarts and 52 Universal Carriers.

The kit used is the old Italeri one with scratchbuilt side skirts, the removal of the sub-turret, an MV lense for the search light and various pieces of Firestorm and Italeri stowage. It was painted and washed using Tamiya acrylics with some old 'sand' coloured tile grout used to represent.....well...sand!
